Our intuition is a powerful way to reassure us if we are on the right path, or if we need to make decisions to move towards something new. But what is intuition and how can we use it? In today’s blog, I am telling you just that – how you can use your intuition for guidance. Especially during those times where you are finding difficulty in making decisions.
In order to listen or follow our intuition, we first need to learn to connect with it and give it a voice. This can be especially difficult as the mind chatter (or anxiety) can get in the way and confuse us. How do we differentiate between intuition and anxious thoughts? As I see it, anxious thoughts are very busy, this way, that way, and everything in between. Anxious thoughts tend to lean more into fear and the great “what if’s” of any situation.
In contrast, intuition feels calmer and is “louder” than anxious mind chatter. I often find that intuition is accompanied by a profound sense of calm. A knowing that is difficult to explain. Intuition can be felt in the body as well. A heaviness, a relaxing and reassuring feeling.
We carry inside us, the wonders we seek outside of us.

In order to benefit from using your own intuition- you need to be able to provide it space and trust in order for it to guide you. Here is what you can do:
Find a quiet space to breathe.
Close your eyes and lay your hand on your stomach – the solar plexus area, this is where intuition lives, that ‘gut feeling’. Focus on your breaths, how your stomach moves up and down as you inhale and exhale, notice how it moves, how it sounds, what it feels like. Do this for a few minutes or for as long as you need to get into that calm state.
Ask your intuition to guide you.
Ask your intuition to provide you with the knowledge you are seeking. Lean into what comes up, what comes to mind once you have asked this question, find the clarity for what you need to do next.
Trust it and act on it.
Once you have connected with this part of yourself (or intuition), you need to trust it and act on it.
As you continue to do this, you will tune in more often to your intuition and be able to trust yourself so much more.
