Eating Disorders

“You’re too fat”, “Look at how ugly you are”, “You’ve eaten too many calories today”, “If only I could lose another 20 lbs then I would be happy”, “I hate myself”.
This is the voice of eating disorders that afflicts countless women, and increasingly men, of all ages. We live in a world where the constant message of “not good enough” surrounds us. Eating disorders are serious – they can start slowly and get more and more intense until they can potentially dominate every waking minute of a person’s life.
Whether a person is living in torture with anorexia, obesity, bulimia or binge-eating, a counsellor can help to discover the underlying causes. In doing so, we are then able to find ways to live a life free of the eating disorder.

“Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.” ~ Sophia Loren
